Our Mission
Our mission is to end isolation for rural Kentucky by building meaningful connections. We recognize that isolation is a detriment to the health of individuals and to the health of communities. We've seen it in our own community and we feel a deep desire to bring people in Union County into an alternative future that focuses on belonging.
Why?
The first time we brought our team together, we asked them why this mission resonated with them and they all said a variation of the same two things.
1. That we do not want to see middle America dying.
2. The people of Union County are interconnected, and it is time to start focusing on how those connections impact the community as a whole.
We believe in a better future.
We hold hope that through the framework we're using, we can use small groups and community building to bring people out of isolation and into an alternative future that allows everyone to know that they are welcome and belong.

Cultivating Kentucky comes from a shared personal desire to lead people toward lives that cultivate meaningful relationships within their community. Our story is one of interconnections born out of one truth: that we need each other.

Our vision for the first five years is to Seek, Support and Serve new and existing leaders in our community. We believe that what our community needs already exists within our community. We do not need to look elsewhere, we simply need to seek those who are already ignited to make change.

We've built everything we do around four central initiatives: Community Building, Care, Equip, and Connect. Each of these initiatives targets a specific need we've found, while allowing for broad application to be developed in many arenas of connection within the community.
